Poetry Break: New York Riffs

New York City, in December:

Is as cold as I care to be

Is an amazing mix of grime and majesty

Is civilized, with a metal core

Would be a bad place for a wealthy alcoholic

My take on New Yorkers - Aggresive-Passive. The opposite of the California standard Passive Aggressive, and I'll take the East Coast version.

I like the attitude in New York, even though I live among the good people of Southern California, bless our passive-agressive souls. There is something refreshing about people who know what they want and aren't shy about insisting on it.

I saddens me I only get New York in short bursts, separated by months of LA-ness. But there would be little room for the motorcycling fun I love if I spent much time in Manhattan, unless I could love being a target and accept survival as a reward in itself. Nah ...
